Hello in there!
Posted in Prenatal/pregnancy on 06/21/2010 08:55 pm by AndiIts been a while since I’ve last written. To recap, the progress appears to be more apparent these days. The belly seems to be getting bigger by the day (see photos below)! The baby is extremely active, kicking lots; especially from about 9pm-4am. Evidently he takes after his father and prefers the wee hours of the night; whereas I like to be in bed early and up at the crack of dawn!! Nonetheless, we enjoy all the movement. Clint likes to put his ear to my bump saying “hello in there” and the baby usually responds with a pokes and kicks. I’ve taken quite the liking to rubbing my belly which stimulates a similar reaction. Its also becoming visible on the outside when the baby kicks which is really fun to watch.
We met with our midwife for the first time at the beginning of June and have our monthly appointment again next week. They seem really lovely, calm and friendly and knowledgeable. The first appointment was more of a meet & greet, medical history. Neither Clint nor I had many questions so the meeting was brief. The next ones should be more fruitful as we make decisions about the birth plan, prepare for labor, etc. The plan is to have the baby at the Arbour Birth Centre in Calgary as they have water baths and a great facility. http://www.arbourbirthcenter.com/Home/Home.htm
So that more or less sums up the last few weeks. Just over 14 weeks to go!
